2009-10 Cash for the Classroom - Schools of the Month

May 2010 School of the Month

May 1, 2010 -- C.L. Salter Elementary School is no stranger to raising money to help their school. Last year, the school raised several thousand dollars to create an outdoor classroom featuring raised bed gardens, a bird sanctuary and a pond.

Teachers from C.L. Salter Elementary joined the staff of The First National Bank of Talladega to see Chad Jones with FNB present Principal Jenni Griffin a check for $11,852.78 representing the money raised by Salter Elementary students and faculty as the May 2010 Cash for the Classroom School of the Month. On top of the eleven thousand, FNB donated an additional $6,000 to the school since they raised the most money of any school in the 2009-10 school year. The money is going to a fund established at FNB to hopefully build a gymnasium for the school.
